One of the most common building materials today is the edged birch board.
This lumber is quite easy to process and finish. In addition, when steaming, it tends to bend well. Edged birch boards are characterized as:
- increased strength;
- light shade of wood (due to the fact that birch wood has a light color, if desired, it can be given many different shades);
- high degree of resistance to decay and negative external influences.
As we all know, birch is one of the hardest types of wood, although compared to oak, birch wood will be much softer. Birch is difficult to split, but it lends itself very well for processing, therefore, it can be said with all confidence that birch wood was undeservedly forgotten by craftsmen at one time. In the modern world, products that are made from such material as edged birch board are becoming not only popular, but also frequently used. Birch is considered one of the most valuable materials in the production of luxury furniture. Today, edged birch board is highly valued. Speaking about the use of edged birch boards, it is important to note that such lumber is somehow not very actively used in the construction of country houses, baths, steam rooms and saunas. Probably, the reason for this was that the edged birch board is notable for its fragility compared to all other varieties of unedged and edged boards. According to its structure, birch belongs to the highly drying tree species. In addition, the structure of birch wood, if processed incorrectly, can be excessively deformed. Also, edged birch boards are highly susceptible to moisture penetration, which invariably entails the development of decay processes.
