OSB plate

OSB literally means "oriented strand board". It is a compressed board of wood chips with oriented flat chips.

How is this building material produced?

1) Excelsior is made using special equipment. The natural strength of wood is preserved by planing along the grain of the wood.
2) The resulting material is dried and then mixed with a compound (boric acid, resins and wax) that provides bonding.
3) A three-layer structure is formed from the result of mixture.
4) Pressing is carried out at high temperatures and high pressure.
5) Ready material is cut of standard sizes into sheets.

These boards contain up to 95% wood, which gives reason to call OSB one of the most environmentally pure wood-based boards. This applies not only to the finished product, but also to the production process itself (complies with the European standard EN-300-OSB). As a result, this material is light (density 650 kg/m³), has good sound insulation properties, low thermal conductivity, ease of processing and aesthetic appearance. Basically, the plates are made from pine.
